Storage Recommendation
New PVA Rollers
When these recommended storage procedures
are followed, ITW Rippey guarantees the shelf life
of our
PVA products to be one year from the date printed on each bag.
- PVA brushes should be stored in an
ambient temperature environment, (between 65-75 degrees F or 18-24
degrees C)
- PVA brushes should be stored in the
horizontal orientation so that the fluid the brushes are saturated
with does not migrate to one end
- PVA brushes should not be stored in
direct sunlight
- For best results, store the PVA brushes
in an enclosed container away from any light source
Previously Installed
In order to prevent bacterial growth, the
following recommendations are made for PVA brushes that have already
been installed on a tool. In certain applications, (especially
pilot lines), a scrubber will shut down for an extended period
of time.
However, the PVA brush may not necessarily be at the end of its
useful life. In order to be sure the brush performs properly when
the tool is put back into use, ITW Rippey recommends
the following procedures:
- Remove the PVA brush and core assembly
from the tool, do not let PVA dry out
- Thoroughly rinse out the PVA brush with
DI water
- Place the PVA brush only, (or brush
and core depending upon customer preference), in a solution of
.15%-.25% NH4OH, (by weight in DI water)
- Keep brushes and solution in a covered
container
- When needed, remove the brushes and
thoroughly rinse in DI water
- The PVA brushes are now ready to install
back onto the tool
